Aqua Sur 2010 – Chile aquaculture investment mission/tour

Posted by admin

Aqua Sur 2010, October 20-23, 2010, Puerto Montt, Chile

The Aquaculture Communications Group (ACG) is currently planning an Aquaculture Investment Mission/Tour in conjunction with Aqua Sur 2010 in October. Here is your opportunity to experience the premiere Chilean aquaculture industry event, with about 300+ stands representing more than 900 companies from over 40 countries looking to do business in Chile.

The Aqua Sur fair organizers have selected a new site for the 6th edition of this popular trade show and conference; an exhibition ground located on Route 5, which is located 5 km to the north of Puerto Montt. Aqua Sur’s new home is a 55,000 sq. meter site, which can be easily accessed from either Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas.

Despite the global financial crisis and the ISA challenges faced by the Chilean salmon farmers during the past 2 years, business opportunities abound. Here is an opportunity for equipment/product suppliers and service providers to network and prospect for new business opportunities as the industry rebuilds.

Our contacts indicate that there is a strong interest in the construction of recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS), and in supplies and services for freshwater facilities such as pumps and filters, sterilization/disinfection equipment/products, feeding systems, equipment control and data management software, for example. Processing plants are looking for equipment to filter effluent and disinfect water, as well as labor-saving machines that can speed up processing activities.

Expertise in logistics and transportation systems are also of interest, from small airplanes to vessels, and equipment for disinfection of the shipping containers and live-haul tanks used on such.

Opportunities also exist for buying or investing in current operations in both the production and processing sectors. For these ventures, the Government of Chile is prepared to offer help and forms are available from us for filling out by interested people/companies.

In collaboration with our Chilean partners, Rodrigo Infante Varas (aquaculture consultant) and Soledad Francke A. (Business Tour Chile), ACG is organizing a full week of activities in and around the Aqua Sur fair, to enhance your business development opportunities by facilitating networking and discussions between Chilean business people and our tour participants.
