Sir
I am from Barakar in W.B. & I am very interested & have been searching the websites for several days to find cultivators/businnessmen of prawn in West-Bengal and finally I have come across this site, where I found your article. Can you let me visit your cultivation area? If so, then let me know your address.
                     Thanking You

I am a farmer enlisted with MPEDA (Marine Products Export Develpment Agency) operating in West Bengal, India. By giant prawn I understand macrobacium rosenbergi. I wonder how a freshwater species maybe understood at Kochi which is primarily a brackishwater zone.
Naturland, Germany and SIPO (Swiss Import Promotion Orgn.) have visited my farm along with INFOFISH in the previous years. All I want to say is, this conglomeration of dedicated people trying to understand and propagate a cause would be incomplete without a field trip to West Bengal. Please consider the total hectarage under cultivation in West Bengal and compare it with any other state and the basic problems faced by the farmers in day to day activity. This fundamental question, I believe will make you understand the whole study more interesting.
Best regards,
Abhijit Mukherjee
