Aquanate makes aquaculture data management easy and secure
We were contacted several months ago by Nathan Saint Clair, the founder of Aquanate, who requested our help in marketing his fish farm and hatchery data management solution.
What we found attractive about Aquanate’s solution was that it was totally online; a web-based software that no longer required it to be installed on a computer. In fact, all one needed was a computer (PC or Mac) with Internet access to be able to use the various features of this software, which include: Inventory Analysis, Feed Tracking & Projections, Cost of Goods Calculation, Tagged Fish Tracking, and Facility Planning & Simulation. The last feature is especially useful for all those ‘what if’ scenarios that all managers want to think about.
The beauty of Aquanate’s software is that the user does not have to be a geek to use it; if you can work a web browser and know how to enter data then you are in business. Because the software sits on a server and not on the user’s computer, there is no danger of the software crashing and the user having to call tech support to figure out what happened, and how to get the program back up and working. Aquanate handles all the technical stuff so that the user can focus on entering the data and using the features to run analyses and generate reports. What could be simpler?
Another bonus is that the client’s data is accessible to him/her from any Internet-connected computer anywhere at any time. Even if there are multiple production sites, the data is accessible from any of them 24/7.
There is also no need to worry about backing up your data; Aquanate offers secure data storage with regular and automatic back-ups using the same technology employed by large financial institutions. Even if your office burned down or your computer was stolen or destroyed, your production data would be intact on Aquanate’s servers, waiting for you to access it.
Finally, Aquanate goes beyond the software by providing services such as importing existing data, providing training and support, and even developing custom features for specific needs.
We think Aquanate has a great solution for small and medium-sized producers, and even some of the big producers, but don’t take our word for it, try it yourself with their 30-day free trial offer.
Cheers!
